Know your Opponents Empty Know your Opponents

So this is what I have learned over the past couple days while studying player types. I have setup my color codes to reflect these so I can quickly identify my opponent. I will take the next couple weeks to continue working with my HUD & player types. Hopefully it will be become second nature!

I can't believe some of the information that I have forgotten! I used to know the 4 main types of player, played based on their style & tells(live), but never really had a solid game plan for them. With everything else I have learned lately, this info seems so much more valuable!

Here is my Breakdown of Opponent Styles...

Passive Fish

Typical Stats – A PLR that a High VPIP & Low PFR

How to Play – Generally these players like to see a lot of flops with no consideration of effective stacks, player types or position. We should be very aggressive if our hand has good equity against their loose calling range, make thinner value bets, never bluff and back down when they show signs of strength.

Maniacs

Typical Stats – A PLR that has a very high VPIP & PFR

How to Play – Generally these players are raising out of control with no consideration of effective stacks, player type or position. We should wait for hands that have good equity against their loose Raising range, try to induce them to make mistakes and never bluff these players.

ABC Players

Typical Stats – A PLR that has a very low VPIP & PFR

How to Play – Generally these players are very tight and wait for very specific hands to enter a pot. We should be playing very aggressive against these players, giving them reasons to fold. When they show any type of strength, we should respect their bet.

LAG Players

Typical Stats – A PLR that has higher than average VPIP &PFR (But not to High)

How to Play – Generally these players are very aggressive, Positional aware and are good post flop. MOST LAG’s are also good at adjusting to player types& effective stacks. We should take the strategy we play against a maniac and apply it to LAG’s.

TAG Players

Typical Stats – A PLR that has an average VPIP &PFR

How to Play – Generally these players have a solid game, they tend play positionally aware. Most TAG’s know how to adjust their game play based on stack sizes, player types & game stage. We should not be looking to target TAG’s, we should be looking to make money from the weaker players first. When we do attack these players, we should be using a selective aggressive strategy. (Picking on their leaks)

Extra Note for TAG’s & LAG’s
: Later in time when I see no visible extremes in their game, I will look at OPR profit rankings to see if they’re unprofitable or profitable. This will help me determine if I need to further look into their stats/game play. (Right now I’m bankroll building with the 18 & 27 PLR SNG’s, you don’t see any TAG’s or LAG’s here)
