Re: AQ spot....
good was my first question, but we need his opening range too. At this level aqo is prob fine. If I knew utg was only open/calling then I might fold, but I would NEVER assume that.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,A9o+,KJo+ 400 bucks un adjusted range ... hes not opening this range

Re: AQ spot....
The second post is his opening range from HR, I adjusted it to something tighter like TT+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ and his calling range is TT+, AJs+, AQo+
Since he is a good player I prob shouldn't be. adjust anything?

Re: AQ spot....
You didn't give a read of being a good player. But I would assume hes not if playing 2's, you get some really good regs playing them sometimes, but you might give him a tag that is 1 above rec player.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:The second post is his opening range from HR, I adjusted it to something tighter like TT+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ and his calling range is TT+, AJs+, AQo+

I think you're a little too tight here in your thinking. Maybe 99's or 88+ and A9s ATo. Remember some players might open kqo.
But if you have a read hes a winning player over 5k+ ish hands or tight hud stats over a few hundred hands (multiple tourney's) then it could be tighter. Calling range is close, I might except Ajo sometimes or 99 etc.
Anyways I pretty much play AQo like the nuts at the 2's with 20bb or less, without reads too many players with r/c kjo and stuff, can't miss that value.

Re: AQ spot....
I think that the board didn't change much so its going to be hard to get folds. There is some value to be had here so betting might be ok. The hand might be played fine, but I guess I just want to point out you are bluffing into a loose passive playerRWPKRPLR1 wrote:bluff

Re: AQ spot....
There is prob a gto bet size for isoing preflop. I'm not sure what it is anymore, don't know if i ever did. I don't play vs a lot of super good players, so I'm usually just playing exploitatively.
What you wanna do is ask yourself what you want to accomplish with your preflop raise, in regards to the postflop play
If we want them to fold pre we might be bigger like 3x or 4x.
Sometimes if we want them to flat so we can jam any flop we will bet a portion of our stack pre that allows us to go all in for around 75% of the post flop pot.
Sometimes if we are strong postflop and or villain is weak and or doesn't often fold pre we can iso smaller like 2.2 or 2.5x, and give ourselves more room on more streets to maneuver.
sometimes we iso pre and only continue if we hit the flop, vs a player that is known to NEVER fold etc.
Just listing some of the lines we might decide to take.

Re: AQ spot....
Ya I think if there is only bad plr left to act then we can do this. if there are good plrs behind the we better keep it the same so they cant exploit the bottom of our range. I always try to keep the same OR+1BB but i will try this if there isnt any behind to exploit it.

Re: AQ spot....
most of the time especially in mid stakes or micros, we aren't so worried about the players behind exploiting us, rather we are intent on maximally exploiting the initial limper.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:Ya I think if there is only bad plr left to act then we can do this. if there are good plrs behind the we better keep it the same so they cant exploit the bottom of our range. Re: AQ spot....
ive always worried about this because you essentially develop a bad habit, move on and never really think about it again(now i will tho). what about the higher 180's do we do the same, or is it even relevant as less ppl are limping?
i will start to do this in the 2's,knowing that it may change later in time!

we always consider the players left to act, but no one at that level is going to exploit us in ways that will cause us to not attempt to maximally exploit a fish.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:ive always worried about this because you essentially develop a bad habit, move on and never really think about it again(now i will tho). what about the higher 180's do we do the same, or is it even relevant as less ppl are limping?
