ATo early game

Post  REEBS77 on Sat Mar 29, 2014 10:12 pm

No stats, second hand at the table.  Flop call is pretty bad I think... bet/fold instead or?

I think we can be reasonably sure villain has something, as we block a lot of the flush draws that c/r flop.  On the turn, check back ok?  Now what?

Is there any merit to flatting the smallish 3 bet cus of implied odds w overcards and back door nut fd??

IMO c/r this board is a lot of the time over pairs, sets, and total air balls so if I do hit I'm going to be paid off ... However sometimes I hit an ace and he's got a set and he just laughs at me while stacking my chips. I wanna run this in flopzilla today just to see how bad it is... Lol

bah, oops!

missed the nut card, ya we can float here sometime (looking for reebz reedz), we should be villain dependent a little though since often villain auto bets turn so floating gets expensive (implied odds go up tho). I think if we feel they do this with top pair or one pair a lot, then we can also try to take the pot on some run outs.

River sucks he has sets two pair, and the occasional flushdraw, I guess I'm just snap calling, thinking about it at later times.

Seems close tho, we might be able to find a fold since the flush made it and we have an ace blocker to A9 and A5

forgot to follow up on this....

I actually jammed the river for value here.  Villain snapped off with JJ.  Don't wanna sound results oriented but I really put him on overpairs to the flop, and Ax that cbet, then continued to bet when he hit.

He earned himself a note.

If this is his range, why does it suck? We are beating everything but sets. And sets are hard to get.

ya good note for sure. I don't think overpairs often calls a jam here on the river no?

no idea what i meant by this, maybe just i meant 'the river decision sucks', but i guess it doesn't really i just call tho.

we have a ace blocker to his strong two pairs so his range is a lot of things that can't really call, and then some weaker two pair, that might call, but we are raising into sets and missed flush draws on the river i think

I think you might be right.... Hence why I wanted to follow up on the river decision. I didn't think about the fact that we are blocking all his two pairs and strong aces.... and yah prob TT-KK fold to river shove mostly, you are right. I dunno, I felt that I had him crushed while in game. Which is strange cus I had no history w him. Worked this time, don't know its good long term tho.
