pre 3b fold to a jam.. on the flop: this flop smashes his range, but we need to rep./ make it look like we want to get it in, so a small cbet and fold to jam

So, curious what your 3 bet range looks like here then? are you linear or polarized?

On the flop, what is ur sizing? flop pot size should be like 1400ish I think. Typically, I will size it like 1/3 pot on dryer flops, and a bit bigger on wet ones. So this one I would typically go to like 1/2 psb or so. maybe 694 or something...

I'm not a fan pre.  I wonder if you are in villains spot do you 2.5 or 2x?  I think most good players will 2x and that would be worry some.  The reasoning is to have a player that you should be 3betting with a wide 'linear' or polarized range they need to have a wide range pre.  And only fish or laggish regs will have this and i feel like we are looking at a player that is really in between these.

So think we might 3bet here with a linear range, but that its a little too wide with a9s.  I think even ats might be too wide.

And so then we expect to flat ats I think (probably never folding ajs either way), and I think a9s is probably too lose flat.

And then that makes use consider 3betting it as a bluff, but again we are worried villain is too tight

So i think its a textbook fold pre, however given all the above too me and btp, this seems like what would be a text book CIB 3bet or a '3bet to zero' which is like tanking and flatting and repping AA and KK postflop.

I think you will understand all that.

So postflop we get in a slight mess, because although we hit some flop, we totally missed this one and villain with have a tone of hands in their range that dominate a9s.

I like your flop sizing, however i think that villains range almost never folds here on this board and therefore we should check back.

there are a few turns we can be on given timing tells and villains actions.  Generally when the turn pairs we can act like we slow played the flop and don't want to check to streets.

Often the turn destroys our equity and our fold equity but that was somewhat bound to happen then anyways (poker players ever where just rolled their eyes to the way i stated that).

Villains will often lead turn with made hands and check their draws and weak hands and we can bet turn for a bluff, and earn a free showdown from missed draws on the river, and have a chance to draw to an ace if villain has TT+ (not kk) kq etc
