Re: A FEW HANDS FROM TONIGHT
here is the thing, anytime we guess on something we cannot possible be making a plus ev play. Its something you might not believe but sadly its true. So often throughout the day a hand will come up where I don't know. I have to guess so I know its not +ev.Smoker.B. wrote:call

Here we can use nash so we don't have to guess. So its fun to guess to see how we do, but then we get sad when we are wrong and we try to defend our position instead of learning the correct plays.
Nonetheless I can talk about each hand but really, we need to look at the hand in nash and adjust the villains ranges to see what hands we should call with....

Re: A FEW HANDS FROM TONIGHT
so you can highlight the hand history text from the file, and paste from clipboard in the nash calculator with either a new min raise/fold hand or a shove hand.
make sure the payout is 1 for anytime before the money.
Also i forgot about the new payout structure, so its a little different than the tourney we'll get into it. I haven't fully adjusted my play to it and ill talk about that too.

Re: A FEW HANDS FROM TONIGHT
Just went trough these hands with HR, here are my results... smokerb you're going to go crazy...
*= made the same play in the game
*1.Fold (66+, AJs+,AJ+ to call)
*2.Fold (88+,AJs+,AQo+ to call) <- not on the bubble like I had said
3.Fold (very close to a shove -.29 tho)
4.Call (No adjustments)
*5.Shove (I made the effective stack mistake)
*6.Call (No adjustments needed, could of called even wider)
*7.Shove ATC (thought ICM would affect the shove, but it didnt)
Think I might make this into a game for myself... everytime I play take min 10 hands, compare my play vs HR results

6 is a call REALLY? I thought it would have been like a9 for a call.

3 isn't really close .29 isn't really something we want, if you are going to make a mistake make it suited.
good good thought lots of learning going on here no doubt this will bring your play to a new level.

ty! The reason I'm working so hard is because I no longer want to build CRV's
my thoughts are simple.
in a turbo donkament where we are never deep and rarely over 20bb , i cant fold pairs
also, anything under 10bb thats folded to me , its getting unexploitably shoved (for the most part)
my theory may be wack but its pretty much what it is, and why i posted shove/call in your OP
(i dont and wont play turbo's btw.. too high a variance for me personally)

We should throw away our theories and do what nash does. And turbos aren't high variance thats a myth.Smoker.B. wrote:RWPKRPLR1 wrote:I think he would be happy to hear your thoughts!

Not yet, It's a cash cow my friend! But I hope that in like 3 years I can consider it. That will be my 10th year, so I can collect some of pension later in life!
I wish I was on my other computer to show you, but basically it's because they're so short their ranges open up.sngking wrote:

Is it variance or is it your play? I couldn't cash in these for the life of me before i started this endeavour with nash, now I'm cashing, even FTing and that's only with the base shove charts. I can only imagine for now what my profits are going to look like once I loosen my shipping ranges, figure out my calling ranges and reshipping ranges.
Don't hate the turbo's, try to understand them!

I dont hate! Just minimal edges to be had . I just prefer deeper structures.
ooooooo this is the fun part for u.. finally figuring out how to loosen up
dont get too carried away lol, its fun as hell to shove Q6s on nits who call u with with 6bb with AK and they cant figure out why they are losing at this game
i used to shove too wide.. i remember shipping 72s and stuff lol .. u got joda B ur in good hands..

Re: A FEW HANDS FROM TONIGHT
That's cool!! I don't think it's the deeper stacks, I think it's the prestige of it all. It's seems that everyone thinks there's none of that in 180's.
would you say I'm crazy if I said that regs are using these to reduce variance<-- yup i said it
oh BTW

lol now u sound like me aka "H"
it reduces variance in the sense that as a "winning player" the more you play or more games that run, in theory over the long run, will be the more money that you make. its not the tournament itself that reduces variance
oh and
