Re: Range the Blinds
Well its a good idea as a generally rule until you really understand all this, because min folding under 10bbs is pretty exploitable and someone could shove atc on you and profit.RWPKRPLR1 wrote: didnt look at the HH text up top, used PT4 re-player lol

BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE SHOULD NEVER DO IT.
Its just a good base to have as a general rule.
11 bbs min fold is close...12 or more is pretty std. But less is not a good idea until you have a really solid foundation and really solid reads.

Re: Range the Blinds
so when we have a large sample size for fold to steal % and a opponent folds 100% the time we can start doing this against them <12bb

Re: Range the Blinds
Did you just suggest the opponent might fold 100%? Or you mean fold/orshove but never flats?RWPKRPLR1 wrote:so when we have a large sample size for fold to steal % and a opponent folds 100% the time we can start doing this against them <12bb
Umm ya thats possible be we don't want to lay down something like that, as you come up to spots that we work through you'll understand.
Best is to get into a spot in game and save the hh with notes.
But this also helps you learn what notes to take, once you see a villain flat or 3bet k9o, then you know there range for not folding is at least 30%

Re: Range the Blinds
I was just suggesting we have an opponent that never defends.
As for making notes about someone's range
When I see a player flat/ shove k9 I should add the effective stack to it, so I know that villain is at least 30% under that effective stack size. Or does that matter?

Re: Range the Blinds
yes exactly it does matter because it helps us understand our oppenent, but we might not need an exact stack size to make a read.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:I was just suggesting we have an opponent that never defends.

For example a player who plays loose with 14 bbs is likely to play loose with 16 right?

I think you are mistaken in thinking this player knows the difference in stacks like you might, instead I think we can assume loose players will be loose.JodaB. wrote:

Re: Range the Blinds
Ok so if we see a player do this at anytime, we can assign him a 30% range.

Re: Range the Blinds
If we have seen two opponents do this and they're the blinds. We should adjust to our value shove range against it. Or just one opponent

Re: Range the Blinds
no we just no that in general they are looser than we would assign vs a rando in each spot.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:Ok so if we see a player do this at anytime, we can assign him a 30% range.
Well we would adjust wider for two than vs one thats all.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:If we have seen two opponents do this and they're the blinds. We should adjust to our value shove range against it. Or just one opponent

Re: Range the Blinds
yes we might do that vs rec players to induce a call or shove vs our nut hands like qq+. But often in todays game you might as well shove because even newbie know to call shoves a little wide.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:We can min call under 10bb right!
there is a danger though if player sees you do this and adjusts...
What might they do to adjust?

yes now there is something to learn that you are prob at that stage.RWPKRPLR1 wrote:

There is always two aspects to an adjustment that can be made.
We are min raising our strong hands so villains rehove tight.
What is the other thing they can do to exploit our strategy?

Re: Range the Blinds
no i was saying they will call my shove tighter, prob dropping off the bottom of their range
or they may call looser cause they think my range is wider
i like my 2nd option better

villains see you min raise QQ KK and AA with 10bbs. Next time they see you shove...what can they assume about your shove range?RWPKRPLR1 wrote:no i was saying they will call my shove tighter, prob dropping off the bottom of their range
