Fold Equity
When I was working on my list from PFC I had briefly looked at fold equity. I watched a video on it, but really didn't grasp the full concept. In the video they outlined two types of fold equity, one being based on stack sizes and the other was an equation that added a pct. to your hand. The sad thing is they never explained how to properly apply it in game play, so I never really used it.(although I know I'm using it without even knowing it)
Everyday when I read various threads I here about this, I feel I should better my understanding of this topic. So wiping the slate clean of what I do know about it, What is Fold Equity? When do you use FE? and What's a simplified way to use it in gameplay?
THX,
Ryan

Re: Fold Equity
I took a day off today so I'll write a little and more later, cause its a good question I think.
This might not be fully proper but its what you need to hear (pretty much take everything I say like that and tell others too as well )
Theres two types of fold equity one with shoving/calling and we'll only deal with that with nash/sngwiz, so boom ignore it for now.
The other is for any poker thats not shove or fold pre.
It has two parts
first the range he scall vs. the range he folds. So if he he has 10 hands in his range and folds 5 he folds 50% of the times
the 2nd is like pots oddds/hand equity.....what price do you lay, bet 100 into 100 you risk 100 for 100 you get 50% odds

Re: Fold Equity
would like to touch base on this a bit further...
ok i know that to fold equiuty is the ratio of hands that a opp. will fold out of their range. I would like to know how or if we can add a % to our hand equity?
66 is 40% against this range 77+,ATs+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo, but if we know he is folding the bottom half our equity has to go up.

our EV is always a combination of how often we pick up the pot immediately from folds PLUS how often we win our flips at showdown (hand equity)
