Bluffing then calling with showdown value?
Vague question....
Does it make sense that once you decide you need to turn your hand into a bluff, can you then decide on the river that you have enough showdown value to call?
We were discussing a hand last night where I turned a bottom pair hand into a bluff on the flop, then on river I called a min bet from villian (1/10th pot) thinking I had enough showdown value to call. I started thinking and it doesnt seem to make a whole lot of sense to me. We shouldnt have any showdown value if we felt the need to bluff earlier in the hand, correct?
Straighten me out here.... (in the mean time I will try to find the hand while at work...)

What if we call your flop bet a semi bluff/protection bet instead?
