FTP $11r super fml spot on river

RedCap is a good aggro reg and we both ft'd this tourney last week, he won it, I finished 4th, but I think he has at least some respect for my game.
When I used to be a huge nit Id usually check-call river here but have history with him and won a nice pot 5 hands earlier where I open KJ he defends BB flop Kxx he check calls turn T we cc and river J he checks I bomb he calls K9s and I win nice pot. I mean I guess this hand isnt too relevant but figure it might help with read on villain or how villain perceives my betting.

fwiw I think call pre is fine, defending A7s getting a good price against a guy opening a pretty wide range w/ CL at final table.

also what are your thoughts on a flop CR, I figure check call is decent considering our A high will be good a decent amount of the time.

I really hate my river sizing bc it KINDAAAAA looks like a blocker bet.

I don't think its crazy to flat here, but the worry is you will get dominated by A8+ alot, this spot seems like a good example. I feel like A5s and A9s are much better flats, and wonder if we might have room to CIB 3bet btp style, he would know best. I think it would be a good spot for it.

Its easier for me to do that playing 150 games a day. I think its optimal if we only have about 23bbs pre we can justify a check shove vs a decent sized cbet expecting TT JJ and better aces to fold. When I say optimal though I play quite loose and aggressive and count on my image to include a check shove here. Might not be optimal for everyone.

possible but you cut yourself alot vs dominated aces, especially if an ace hits....not that its a fold but just a big consideration especially depending on your opponent.

It IS a blocker bet i think We can surely fold here (I can't tell what odds we are getting though but can't be that great), but I think you are making a very thin at best value bet and check calling is prob better (folding to a shove etc.), but bet folding small can't be that bad.

If I bet fold small then I always make sure I balance vs thinking regs if I think I have to, but I usually play with initiative in spots like this too, and in that case I can 3bet pre, cbet the flop, check/check turn, check call river and pick up bluffs since it looks like I gave up.
